SPCA Detectives arrested Marlon A. Alzate, 29, of Elmhurst, on Thursday, Nov.19, while he was appearing in a Queens courtroom on an unrelated charge.

SPCA Chief Roy Gross said that the agency received a complaint in early October that there were horses, a dog, a variety of avian and foul being kept on a piece of property in Manorville in various stages of declining health.

A veterinarian was called in to examine the animals and they were successfully fostered where they are receiving care to nurse them back to health.

Alzate is scheduled to appear in First District Court, in Central Islip, on Tuesday, Dec. 8, to answer the charges.
